The U.S. Attorney’s Office is deciding whether charges should be filed against a former Denver Broncos player involving medical marijuana

The Denver Broncos promoted linebackers coach Don “Wink” Martindale to defensive coordinator Thursday.

While this week was almost newsless as far as the Miami Dolphins go, this weekend brought in a whirlwind of tidbits of news that finally brought the Dolphins media to life. One of the bigger headlines this weekend relates to the Mike Nolan signing of last week. • Man, Mike Nolan didn’t stay unemployed for long. After being let go by the Broncos, the Dolphins snatched him up to replace the outgoing Paul Pasqualoni. The Dolphins get a little stronger, the Broncos get a little weaker.

After all the names that have been thrown out there, it appears now that the Bills’ ongoing search for a new head coach could be coming to a close.

The Dolphins have been rejected twice so far this week by two of their top candidates for the open defensive coordinator position. Both Al Groh, and Keith Butler, who were believed to be the front runners for the job, declined the Dolphins offers, and while Butler stayed put in Pittsburgh as their linebackers coach, Groh took the defensive coordinator spot at Georgia Tech. The Dolphins now are down to only a few select guys, one of whom is already in their organization, in Todd Bowles.

They ran out of passing formations, used finesse blocking, went with a pass-heavy game plan, and choked in the clutch when red-zone running was needed.
